Are sudoku or other puzzles, copyrighted, can I print my own to distribute?

I’m trying to figure out ways to make money. I am kind of an information junkie, so I thought a small zine might be an option. I have seen other zines printed locally succeed enough to survive for some time. I enjoy puzzles, namely sudoku, kakuro, and others, I thought they would be a great way to fill some print space and reduce the need to generate content while still providing value in the form of amusement. I really don’t know if there is some sort of licensing or royalties I would have to pay. Where would i find out?
